On January 17, 2023, the inaugural ceremony of the Huai’an Guandan Federation was held in grand fashion at the Olympic Sports Mingdu Hotel in Huai’an City. Nearly 200 witnesses gathered to witness the unveiling ceremony of the federation.

Under the supervision of the Propaganda Department of the Huai’an Municipal Party Committee, the federation adheres to the principles of “cooperation, interaction, dissemination, and sharing.” Its goal is to “promote Huai’an through Guandan and make Huai’an known worldwide.” The federation concentrates resources on promoting Huai’an Guandan externally. By hosting authoritative events, it aims to shape a unique cultural brand and continuously inherit and develop Huai’an Guandan while deeply propagating its culture.

Huai’an Guandan, originating in the 1960s in Nanzha Commune, Huai’an County (now Caoyun Town, Huai’an District, Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province), is renowned for its entertainment value, intellectual challenges, competitiveness, and fun. In recent years, Huai’an has hosted over a hundred Guandan competitions with participation from over a million people, achieving significant social benefits. The city is gradually realizing its initial goal of “promoting Huai’an through Guandan and making Huai’an known worldwide.”
