From August 4th to 6th, 2023, the 2023 Chinese College Students Computer Game Competition, hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) and organized by Bohai University, Chongqing University of Technology, and Esports World (Beijing) Network Technology Co., Ltd., successfully concluded.
This year’s competition adopted a new format that combined online and offline elements. On August 5th, the opening ceremony took place at the Student Activity Center of Bohai University’s Binhai Campus, with nearly 300 people attending in person. Zhao Xuhui, Dean of the College of Information Science and Technology at Bohai University, presided over the opening ceremony.
During the ceremony, speeches were delivered by Professor Sun Fuchun, Vice President of CAAI, Professor Zhang Shoubo, Vice President of Bohai University, Professor Zhang Xiaochuan, Director of the CAAI Machine Game Committee, and Mr. Ba Chuan, Chief Data Scientist of Esports World (Beijing) Network Technology Co., Ltd. The chief referee, Associate Professor Qiu Hongkun, took the oath on behalf of the referees, and Shen Jili, a student from Bohai University, took the oath on behalf of the participants.
This competition featured ten gaming projects for university students, including Gomoku, Renju, Dots and Boxes, Surakarta Chess, Amazons, Phantom Go, Not Go, Einstein Chess, Military Chess, and Hex Chess. Additionally, there were nine gaming projects open to the general public, such as Chinese Chess, Go, International Checkers (64 squares and 100 squares), Two Against One, Bridge, Texas Hold’em, Tibetan Go, and Mahjong.After two days of intense competition, winners were determined in all 19 categories, with champions, runners-up, and third-place finishers, as well as first, second, and third place awards.
