Currently, Mind Sports Competitions are flourishing in China, with various competitions of different scales being held one after another. However, due to the lack of supervision and regulatory authorities, the quality of events varies. Ensuring the quality of competitions, enhancing their competitiveness and viewing experience, and safeguarding the rights of participants are important issues in the current Mind Sports Competitions.

In order to standardize the rules of Mind Sports Competitions, promote their professionalization, and improve the overall level, ensuring fairness in aspects such as competition rules, safety standards, schedule arrangements, and equipment, FCG is introducing event certification services. This certification aims to ensure that certified Mind Sports Competitions meet international standards.

Events certified by FCG will have their results included in the FCG athlete management database. If the competition adopts a league system, all participating players have the opportunity to earn FCG master points, with champions having the chance for direct promotion in rankings. Furthermore, FCG certification provides increased exposure on the official FCG platform, expanding the coverage of event promotion, attracting more participants and sponsors. Additionally, FCG can offer high-quality competition equipment and referees to ensure the fairness of the competition.

Through FCG-certified event services, the competitiveness and level of Mind Sports Competitions can be guaranteed, bringing in a wider participant base, more business opportunities, and increased brand exposure.

Guandan

Two Against One

Competition Rules and Standards

  • The individual competition must have no fewer than 16 participants, the doubles competition must have no fewer than 32 participants, and the team competition must have no fewer than 64 participants.

  • In non-duplicate matches, the rules must comply with the "FCG Card Games Mind Sports Basic Rules"; in duplicate matches, the rules must comply with the "FCG Card Games Mind Sports Duplicate Rules."

  • At least one month before the competition begins, the overall event schedule and list of participants must be submitted to FCG for review. Any changes must be notified to FCG at least three working days in advance.

  • Based on the number of participants, competitors from different regions, and the lowest rank, events are categorized into S (World-level), A (National-level), B (Provincial-level), C (Local-level):

    S (World-level):

    • Participants must have a minimum rank of Master 5.

    • The number of participants must not be less than 48.

    • Participants should come from at least 3 countries/regions and 5 provinces/direct-controlled municipalities/autonomous regions/special administrative regions.

    • In non-qualifying matches using a duplicate system, participants can earn FCG Master Points, and the champion can directly advance to the average rank of participants, not exceeding Master 7.

    A (National-level):

    • Participants must have a minimum rank of Master 3.

    • The number of participants must not be less than 32.

    • Participants should come from at least 5 provinces/direct-controlled municipalities/autonomous regions/special administrative regions.

    • In non-qualifying matches using a duplicate system, participants can earn FCG Master Points, and the champion can directly advance to the average rank of participants, not exceeding Master 5.

    B (Provincial-level):

    • Participants must have a minimum rank of Master 1.

    • The number of participants must not be less than 16.

    • Participants should come from at least 3 cities/counties/districts.

    C (Local-level):

    • In non-qualifying matches using a duplicate system, participants can earn FCG Master Points.


  • Athletes' results should be submitted to FCG after the competition ends. Upon FCG's confirmation of accuracy, the results will be entered into the FCG Athlete Management System within 3 working days of submission.

Safety Standards

The competition venue must comply with the provisions in the "FCG Guandan Event Requirements Outline" and should undergo an on-site inspection by FCG at least one month before the competition.

The number of on-site staff should generally not be less than "two event staff per 100 participants," "four security personnel per 100 participants," and "four medical staff per 100 participants."

Ethical and Fair Competition Standards

The competition should follow the principles of "fairness, justice, and transparency" to ensure the legitimate rights of each participant.

Organization and Management

The event organizer should designate a person responsible for coordinating with FCG. In case of a change in leadership, FCG should be notified at least 5 working days in advance.

The complete list of the competition organizing committee should be submitted to FCG when applying for certification. If inviting FCG guests to the opening or closing ceremony, an invitation should be submitted in advance.

Brand and Market Impact

During event promotion, FCG or Federation of Card Games can be used in the guiding unit column but should not appear in other columns. Phrases like "This competition is FCG certified" can be used in promotional materials, but phrases like "This competition is organized/co-organized by FCG" cannot be used.

FCG's logo can be used on promotional materials, medals, trophies, and certificates following the "FCG Logo Usage Guidelines" after approval by FCG. Event organizers must not release promotional materials without FCG's review and confirmation.

Technical and Equipment Standards

Tablecloths, barriers, cards, scoring cards, and card covers can be purchased from FCG at standard prices or prepared independently, subject to FCG's review and approval, meeting the requirements outlined in the "FCG Guandan Event Requirements Outline."

Other equipment can be self-prepared and submitted for FCG review and approval. The number of referees should not be less than "one referee per 16 participants," and approval from FCG is required for assignments or submitting a list for review.

If FCG assigns referees, the event organizer bears the cost. Except for the chief referee, deputy chief referee, and referees, no special requirements are placed on other staff. FCG will appoint an arbitration committee to oversee referee enforcement during the competition and provide final rulings in case of disputes. The related costs are borne by the event organizer.

Legality and Compliance

In principle, certification applications should be submitted to FCG at least one month before the competition. The organizing entity must be a government department or a legal entity with independent status, free from negative records (not included in FCG or other IMSA organizations' blacklists).

The competition name must comply with FCG requirements and national regulations (cannot include FCG, and if not approved by the national Ministry of Civil Affairs, it cannot include the national name).

The competition must comply with local laws, regulations, and government rules in the hosting location. The organizing entity needs to provide copies of approval or reporting certificates from the local government and public security for the event venue.

Adaptation to International Standards

If the competition has special rules or requirements, they should be explained during the application process.
If standards or rules not mentioned during the application are discovered, FCG reserves the right to revoke certification, cancel corresponding results and honors.

Participation and Inclusivity

The competition should be invitation-based or open to the general public. FCG generally does not accept certification applications for internal company competitions.

Continuity and Development

Within 30 days after the competition ends, the event organizer should provide FCG with a minimum of 10 competition photos and a video lasting at least 2 minutes for promotional purposes. If the competition is part of a series or tour, advance notice must be given to FCG. Certification obtained for a single event cannot be used in subsequent series or tours.

Fee Principles

The certification fee is determined by the following factors:
1) Number of participants
2) Level of the event
3) Duration of the event
